Puzzling

Jigsaw puzzles are a favorite form of relaxation for me. And it has become a holiday tradition for my daughter, daughter-in-law and I to work on a puzzle when we get together. In fact, I love puzzles so much that when I first started making quilt patterns, that’s the theme I used.

I still tend to think of my quilts in terms of putting puzzles together once the pieces get up on the design board. (I guess this is your quilting tip of the day, too!)

Right now I’m thanking and cursing the person from whom I got the **** bird puzzle. It has tons of writing, descriptions of the birds, so I thought it would be pretty easy to do…I was so wrong! It was a very challenging puzzle, so thanks for that. It was a very challenging puzzle, so darn you! Fortunately, I cannot remember for sure from whom I got this puzzle, though I suspect it was from my sister. Whomever it was, it was passed on with no warning and I spent waaaaay too much time playing with it! I’ve never been too fond of birds–ever since the Hitchcock movie–and working this puzzle didn’t make me like them any more, either! It wasn’t totally relaxing, because of the frustration factor, but in the end, it was another puzzle conquered!

The Puzzle Lady conquers again! Hooray!
