A Day of Indecision

I haven’t been down to my studio for several days and so I thought I would zip right along when I got down there today. No such luck. I wanted to work with this group of fabrics, from which I had already started a piece.

I added a few more elements and found a dark green/black batik that I thought would make a wonderful filler fabric. I hit the design wall and started arranging…

and re-arranging…

and re-arranging…

I finally gave up in disgust, hating every element and every arrangement. I think this group of fabric needs to go to a time out for a while. It is NOT falling into place for me at all!

On a side note, all the pundits have made their pronouncements on the colors of the year for 2011–honeysuckle and goldenrod–I don’t think those are the official names, but that gives you a picture in your head–pink and gold. I don’t think everyone in the industry has received that message yet, though. A window display caught my eye this weekend at a local store…

Lime green and so happy looking, in the sunshine, on a cold winter day. I think I’ll probably always be drawn to bright, happy colors like this!
