Quick Glitz…and a Quick Giveaway

Wanted something cute and quick for a little gift and remembered how easy these little wallets are.

Use bright and bold fabrics, add some glittery crystals and you have a fun little gift.

It takes me longer to decide which pieces of fabric to use than it does to make the thing!

Now–giveaway! I’m not part of a blog ring, giving something away to promote a new book or product. I’m just giving away an extra copy of the Quilt Art Engagement Calendar that I received after I had already purchased one. If you are interested, leave a comment and I will select a winner the day after Christmas. Just a little fun bonus for someone!

  2. I love your little wallets. Choosing the colors is always my most difficult thing too even when I’m determined to make it random. I carry a little calendar everywhere so I’d love it.
    Thanks!

  3. I love the wallets! And I know what you mean about picking the fabric. Sometimes, after I’ve spent ages putting together just the right fabric for a project I set the whole thing aside – feeling like I’ve already made it, lol!
btw, that engagement calendar would be just the thing to keep me on the straight and narrow in 2012!

  4. The wallets are awesome. Smaller size would great for gift cards or larger for very special greeting cards. Love your forest quilt.
Thanks for the give-away. Hope you have a great holiday season.

    • Scrolling Leaves has just gotten some new inspiration and will be having some additional work. Some focus work in the center and perhaps some beaded fringe and almost definitely going horizontal.

    • I have made some that are just a bit larger–about 7 x 9 or so–and attached a strap long enough to wear over the shoulder and across the chest. Great for shoppers, but also a great way to carry small items if you use a walker or wheelchair. Even cell phone size with a strap can be very useful.

  6. I love those little wallets! Is there a pattern for them? I usually do the wonder wallets but they certainly are not quick or easy for me. Probably just a missed connection in my brain. Kind of like the 20 minute pillow case. That’s never happened to me either.

  10. Hello- I am visiting your blog for the first time today via the quilt art list. I really like your little wallets, and the project your quilting group did. Your friend who sent the postcards was so ingenious! Anyway, I am a follower now. Looking forward to seeing more of your work. – Laura

  11. I so enjoy your blog! You have really encouraged me to get into beading. I even ordered that sunflower panel you beaded. It’s waiting for me to get after it!

    • These little wallets are a great way to use up ‘practice’ quilting pieces, too. Your practice is better than most people’s best, so anyone would love to get one of these from you!

  12. Your little wallets are wonderful – a great idea for a couple of last minute gifts I need to make. Now the engagement calender draw, well that should be a perfect solution to my need to get a 2012 calender going with dates for entry to competitions and classes I wish to travel to take in the year.
