Show in review

Had a last minute opportunity to hop on a bus and head for Chicago to see the IQA Show. I’m not one to miss a chance like that, so off I went.

The red and white quilt display was spectacular! The selection of quilts from the “500” was also wonderful. Loved visiting the vendors and the Open Studios demos were great to have. But my heart was taken by the SAQA exhibits. I took some pictures–yes, I remembered to take my camera!

This is what I will remember from the 2015 IQA Chicago show——–

IQA 2 IQA 3

The Prairie Burr Oak by Jean Sredl

IQA 1

Line Dance, Tree Ring Patterns, var. 12 by Barbara Schneider

IQA 4

Rough Bark by Marianne Williamson

IQA 6 IQA 7

Reflections Reflecting, Peggy Brown

IQA 8

Silver Birch Grove by Sandra Poteet

IQA 12 IQA 11

Dotting Inside the Box by Sandi Snow

IQA 13 IQA 14

There were others, but these……………just wow!

      • Thanks for the reply. You probably are right on this one since I see no ribbons hanging…but Houston is an IQA judged show .I was just being curious whether any of my friends won anything as I’m out of the country. 🙂

  1. THANK YOU for including my quilt in your selection of quilts you liked.
I think most quilters make quilts for their own enjoyment but it feels really good to have other quilter admire the work. Sandi Snow

    • There are some wonderful shows in your part of the world that I wish I was close enough to, also. It would be great if we had instantaeous travel and could get to every show, everywhere!

    • This was a combination from exhibits at the Quilt Festival show in Chicago. The exhibits were The Eye and the Needle, Art Quilts of the Midwest, Tactile Architechture 2014, SAQA: Celebrating Silver…to me, the best parts of the show. Well–we always love the vendors, too!
