Blue Lake Progress Report

Part 1 of the student projects is done! All the stamping and stenciling of background pieces is complete and the embroidery has begun. I took a (very) few photos as the painting was finishing up. I’ll show you the final product when the stitching is done.

One thing these kids have a hard time with is the concept that the background is not the end product. Their background piece is larger than the felt it will be mounted on. They need to trim/cut/overlap—do something to edit their painting and sewing to make a good presentation. And, of course, only a short time in which to do so. The most interesting part is upcoming!!

    • And they are so willing to just jump right in and try something new! That’s one of the most rewarding parts of doing this camp.
