This is the sight that greeted me when I walked into Gallery 108 this morning (Thursday). Beautiful blank walls, just waiting for my art!

I thought I brought more pieces than we could possibly use, but I was quite surprised by how many fit along that big wall!

I ended up hanging 23 pieces–I didn’t take pics of the small ones, on another wall.

Sean, the gallery owner, patched up the plaster from other hangings as we went along.

I’m very pleased with what I was able to display and how easy it was. In and out in just about 2 hours, even after enjoying a pumpkin spice latte!

I know you all want a quick trip to Michigan, don’t you?

Phew! Now that I have this all done, I can think about making something new…like setting up a ‘free class’ to try out projects for the new book I want to write. Or maybe I should actually MAKE some samples first and then get people to try out the directions. Yeah, that makes more sense!

Or perhaps I should clean out the studio so I can find things. Yep–that’s first on the new to-do list!

    1. Sales are an area in which I am very negative. I never believe it will happen. IF it does, I am over the moon with delight. This is a new venue, hopefully a new audience and I’m just thankful that this time I’m in a gallery that is open during posted hours!

  4. Congratulations on the show! I had my quilts at a local shop recently, on her huge white classroom walls with great light. What a trip! 🙂

    As to what to do next, I would vote for some clean-up work. I enjoy clearing stuff away between projects. It gives me a chance to think through some things, so my brain gets re-ordered along with my studio.

    1. I’m thinking of a huge whole studio deep cleaning and re-do, maybe with paint! It’s so dirty and cluttered that I can hardly stand to be in it.

  5. If only I could pop to Michigan, both to see you exhibition and to take a class with you. It looks so good! I just think it’s a bit of a big step from Lincolnshire, England. Still, spur of the moment is always good. How did you attach your pieces to the wall? Everywhere seems to do it differently. Oh, just to let you know, I wouldn’t mind if you took pictures of the little ones on the other wall. I’m just as interested in those!

    1. Attaching pieces–sleeve as in regular quilt shows, dowels with screw eyes in the ends. You can either put nails through the eyes at each end or you can thread fishline or wire between the eyes and hang from one nail, which is what we elected to do on almost all the pieces. Pop on up–it’s a great place to visit!

        1. No, never been overseas and most likely won’t. I never say “never” anymore, but very unlikely. If I’m lucky, I’ll get to travel lots more here in the US!
