Life · Thinking About Quilting!

Nope–nothing–nada–naught–nil

Empty design wall…

Empty 1

Empty cutting table…

Empty 2

Empty sewing machines…

Empty 3

Yep, that’s about what’s going on around here right now.

I’ve got plenty of ideas and projects in mind. An overabundance of materials. There is only a lack of ambition. I think I’m taking a holiday weekend!

And then there’s this…

Empty 4

Can’t find the top of this table. Everything I did towards the end of the summer was just dumped here for clean up later. I think it’s later now!

And I do want to get some stamps made with all these glorious materials before I start any new projects. You just never know when you might want to use a cool stamp!

Empty 5

Taking it easy isn’t a bad thing. I could say that I’m prioritizing and organizing the direction in which I will go, but that’s not really true. I’m simply being lazy and enjoying it!

  1. My stuff from QU is still in three piles in the hallway upstairs, just outside my sewing space. One day I decided to take care of the stuff. I started out with two boxes and in 1 hour had turned it into 4. That’s where it is sitting now. With new stuff added to it of course. Nit much time this week to deal with either but I will need some of it soon so I HAVE to address it. Wish me luck!

    1. I certainly know right where you’re coming from with that problem! Trying to put things away always make more of a mess…and when all your storage is filled with other stuff already, there’s not really much hope!

  2. I’m too busy “chopping wood” to take the time to “sharpen my ax”. The only time my sewing space looks that clean is when I need the cutting table to lay out a large quilt for basting. Having a work space this clean allows for creativity to flow, a space for new ideas to land, and new momentum.

    1. I’m not sure my design wall has ever been that bare, since the day I put it up. Usually there are two or three projects going on at once! I’m ready to get going–just need to decide on which direction.

    1. Don’t really know what to start in on next…lots of long term projects but my calendar is broken up so no long-term days. Need to make a pile of short term carry-alongs, I guess. You are exactly right–the empty spaces are both exciting and scary!

    1. Hope to see your organized insanity…coming your way at the end of the month/beginning of Oct. I’m sure you’ll have something exciting going on!
