The quilting begins on the big leaf project! Hooray! And the top section, with the tree branches and smaller leaves was the starting point…mainly because I knew what thread I wanted to use and how I wanted to quilt it.
The crazy stitching I used to get the branches ‘stuck down’ doesn’t matter one bit, because there is a LOT of quilting going over the top of it. I stuck with it all day and got the whole top section done, including the swirly ‘sky’ done with plain blue thread.
I’m ready to move on to the bottom section, but I think it might need a different thread for the quilting. The whole section is brighter and bolder than the top, so a brighter thread seems like a logical decision. But there’s that ‘decision’ word again! I always have so many choices that it often slows progress ’cause I can’t make up my mind!
Not much time available today to quilt, which is just as well. I am really having a hard time picking the right thread for these big leaves. Sigh! In the end, it probably won’t matter a whole lot, because the leaves themselves are the focus, not the thread!
We’re going out to lunch in a few minutes and when we get back, I’ll just pick one and get it DONE!!!!
Quilt, quilt, quilt……………….hooray!
