Creative Fantabulous!

We had our ‘final’ deadline for the Knot Even Quilter’s River Project. Not everyone was quite finished, even though our deadlines have been changed several times. But this time we really will have a final deadline, because our project is going to be put on display at a local quilt show. No more procrastination!

I did not attempt to take a panoramic photo of the whole group of pieces since we are not all done. When it is hung, I plan on getting some photos that really show the differences in how we interpreted our theme.

Theme: A river, divided into sections that each participant created from their own personal vision.

Rules: Use the same fabric for each river section and the river edges had to match up.

Sounds pretty simple, doesn’t it? Look what we did!

Here are some cute details. Two of the rivers had fish in them!

Different surface treatments were the norm–the water running around this rock is made of florist cellophane, painted and heat treated.

This bird had a pretty serious look about her, too, in spite of her fancy get-up!

While this project took us a little longer to complete than we had expected, it turned out so fantabulous that it was well worth it! I am so excited to see it all hung up together at the quilt show.

Great job, Knot Even Quilters!
